Picking strawberries

My friend Michelle & I took our kids to Washington Farms today to pick strawberries. We've been in years past and this place has the yummiest strawberries. I even dressed Brennan for the occasion, she wore her strawberry outfit!! On our way there Michelle got a flat tire. We had to pull off the street and into someone's driveway. Fortunately she has AAA so she called them and in less than 45 minutes the guy showed up to change the tire and we were back on the road. We got to Washington Farms and met up with a friend of ours, Angie, and her children. Ethan wasn't all that interested in picking strawberries and Brennan tried a couple of times to get herself a few. After we were done the boys wanted to go slide so we let them do that a while and then they joined Maggie & Daniel at the water pumps. They all had fun playing in the water. Then before we left we took them to the playground to swing and play in the sand. All that playing wore them out so Ethan, Brennan, Cooper & Trinity fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Happy Easter!

Brennan's 1st Easter was a good one. The Easter Bunny came on Saturday since Stephen has to get up before the rest of us and go to church early. The Easter Bunny brought her a couple of shirts, a skirt, hair bows and a new toy she can chew on. My neighbor bought her some bunny ears so I had to take some pictures of her wearing them since she looked so cute.














On Sunday I dressed the kids in their Easter outfits for church and had to have a little mini photo shoot. I was able to get some cute pictures of course. Then after church we came home and took more pictures with Stephen.

After we took the pictures we had to pack to drive to FL for a funeral. We were able to stop in Macon and have dinner with our friends, The Lee's, who were driving back to GA from FL. It was good to catch up with them and Brennan got to see her friend Trinity.

6 month check-up

Brennan had her 6 month check-up today and she weighs 19 lbs 9.5 oz. and she is 26 3/4" long. Ethan was with us and when he heard she had to have shots he was not happy. So when the nurse came in I asked him if he wanted to wait outside with Stephen and he said "Yes". It's so sweet how much he loves her and he doesn't want to see her in any pain. She did fine though and cried for just a minute. She's a trooper!!


Brennan is eating baby food and loves it. So far she's had carrots, squash, applesauce & peaches. I usually feed her baby oatmeal mixed with fruit for breakfast & dinner. Then at lunch she gets a vegetable. She's also drinking some water from a sippy cup. She grabs the cup and puts it in her mouth. I think more water runs down her chin than she actually swallows but she'll get a hang of it soon. Her doctor said she can start some finger foods like Cheerios, Gerber Puffs etc. I was a little surprised since Brennan doesn't have any teeth yet but the doctor said as long as it is something that can dissolve quickly it's ok.

In a couple of months I'm going to a concert with Kimberly so Stephen will have to feed Brennan and put her to bed. She has become quite attached to me and used to me putting her to bed so we decided that Stephen probably needs to take over a couple of times a week. I've been expressing milk and freezing it so we thawed some, put it in a bottle and let Stephen feed it to her. It took her a little while but she finally got a hang of the bottle and drank almost all of it. She fell asleep while Stephen was holding her so he put her to bed. It went pretty smoothly and I hope on the night I go out it will go just as smooth!
